Directions to the Starting Line

From I-40:

Take exit #150 and head east into Burns Park, following the signs for the Soccer Complex. Turn right on Arlene Layman Dr. Dr east through the park on this road for just under 1.5 miles and then turn left on Tournament Dr to enter the Soccer Complex. The main parking lot will be immediately to your right.


Race History

2011 marked the inaugural running of the Go! Mile. Aaron Batey and Tracy Tungac won to set the initial course records at 4:19.6 and 5:25.4, respectively. A total of 327 people finished the race, divided into 5 heats. 2012 saw an extra heat added for runners/walker completing their very first race. Tracy Tungac shaved five seconds off her course record to repeat as champion.

Course Description

The race takes place entirely on park roads within the Burns Park Soccer Complex. The starting line is located in the center parking lot. Runners will head north and turn left onto Soccer Ave. The course then turns left again to head south on Goalie Rd where the 1/4 mile marker is soon passed. Another left turn onto Catfish Road will bring the race to its halfway point. After reaching the 3/4 of a mile marker, the course thens left onto Tournament Dr and back into the center parking lot where the finish line awaits!
