TIME DIDN'T MATTER

Post by Black Stallion »

AS the SW HALF MARATHON took off I WAS only thank full for one thing THAT I found myself there on the starting line about to do a half marathon. WOW , WOW me of all people I am here with. is going todo a half marathon. But I WAS THERE FOR A POURPSE AND TIME DID NOT MATTER. for me any way I was there for a RUNNING FRIEND so I thought a RUNNING FRIEND who has never done a half as a race. I wanted them to do well but not to leave their side for support. to encourge them to lift their spirits up if they found their selfs discourge or lack of confdince that they may feel like they may drop out. but we finish our time was 1:55 so ok it was not a world record or a course record but they did it place in their age div as well :hat  BUT the joy turn into   as a reports came out after the race that by accident I had cut peo[le off I was not aware of this untill later I am used to running by myself or pick some one up as I would be passing them on the side and I will be running with them for a while.. BUTI promise a friend BEFORE we left our respected town that I would not leave them. But only to find out that they were using a I pod in both ears so I thought about a ......... any rate I   and to those were offended I POLOGISE

Stallion,

U are true friend and I take my hat off to you. I know you didn't cut off the runner on purpose, but I was worried about her perception of the situation therefore I over reacted. I'm sorry that I got upset thinking that you might have done it to help me but that was foolish to believe. I really did start to slow down at one point and you helped me keep the pace even as we were losing time. You were a great sport about running so slow since I think you could have easily done this in 1:30 or so! I prolonged your run and you tolerated it and for that I'm thankful.

You never left me even when I got totally frustrated. I know that you are a true running friend. You are someone who sacrificed time, awards, and bragging rights to help me complete my first half marathon. Thanks so much! I was glad to cross the line step by step with you! See you on the trails soon!

John Hunnicutt.......thank you! :bow :ohyeah: :pompom:

OK I would be lying if I said time didn't matter. OF COURSE IT did MATTER I consider myself like the old testement. they pick the BEST LAMB TO LAY AT THE ALTER WHICH that what I did today. I layed my self on the alter for a friend to have a better time... I gave up points people who I normally beat I let them win .... But IS NOT really about the race as much as it was for me personally. still RAN A 48MIN some time. just think what would happen if I was pushing lol this race is history last year .. thing of the past.... but I finally was let go at mile 4 felt good thru out... BRINGS ME TO THIS...... :bow HEY, pink I do have a question for you? When I was in the ST EDWARDS HOSPT..Back in NOV. I had you make a PIC. what was in the pic you took and do you still have the pic.
