The S.C. 10-k will also feature a 5-k. Last year, the 5-k drew about 600 and included lots of walkers and for many was their first ever race. We expect another big turn-out for the 5-k, but of course are making the 10-k the priority race. The course http://reynoldscancersupporthouse.org/w ... 11-MAP.jpg is a loop and at some point the 10-k runners will catch the 5-k run/walkers (assuming the same start time). We do not want the walkers to obstruct the path of the 10-k runners, especially since the last part of the course is a fast, downhill finish. We are thinking of trying to direct the 5-k-ers (primarily the walkers) to one side of the road about 30 minutes into the race at the the 5.5 mile mark. Any issues with this? Is this in compliance with the Grand Prix? Thank you for your input
Many of you know that this race is the first AR Grand Prix event for Western Arkansas Runners. W.A.R., along with the S.C. Planning Committee want to do everything possible to make the race a success.
