Post by MWitt »

Don't forget about the 10k/5k in Danville this weekend....formerly known as the No Name. It is always a fun race and well put on.

The forum sure has been quiet this year!!!! What about the RVR runners? Will Dmac be the one to beat with his marathon taper going on? Will Billy show up and  people again? What about Sidewinder? He is being quiet. Will the Stallion run wild? Who did I leave out?? Ward???

When it takes me 30 minutes to run 3 miles as it did yesterday then I am in no position to talk smack. I am in position to say that my performance this Saturday will be a No Name performance.
Why run fast, when you can run where they aint.

Having put on a few more lbs.since the bench race, I'm also in no shape to be talkin smack, especially since nary a soul has called me out to back-up my trail performance! Guess I'll just show up and quietly pound through a blazing 44 or 45 minutes. :doh!:

Well Clydesdale, at least you were out there tonight facing the elements and getting a good workout in. Unlike some of our teammates, who chose to eat Bon Bons and sip on a soda. (not really but sounded good).
I suppose maybe they are not trying too hard to win a coveted bobble head on Saturday.

OMG.....I'm glad I'm the Assistant Race Director.....Stallion is a little confused. The age group awards are done up like medals but instead of the medal it is the card. They are cool. We will have some door prizes if all goes well. Not guaranteed yet. Bobblehead trophies for overall/masters. ETC. Medals for walkers and costume winners.

I don't know about ur dissing the Bon Bons & Soda - it sure seemed to work for some folks on the Bench Trail run. As for marathon taper where did you get that idea. LRM is 8 weeks off. Right now is the meat of the schedule with this week calling for 4 x 10 miles and a long run of 16.

A good omen is that the low for Friday nite is projected to be 25. That means in the Petit Jean River Valley a little lower and a starting line temp of in the 30's - my kind of running weather.

I really need for Clydesdale and RLAG to show up so I can try to redeem myself. I am :hcat: of their  !!!!

HHHHHHMMMMMMMM..... I always ran back in the olden days in all kinds of weather and it usually beat those guys that avoided the adverse weather or stayed inside.....But as a famous coach from Oregon once said....."Sunshine is delicious....Rain is refreshing.....Wind braces us up....Snow is exhilarating...Theres no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather."

I may have stayed inside last night but at least I ran. I'm not like some people who promise at 10 am to show up for a 10 miler at 4pm and then no-show and turn off their phone which has never had a mail box.
