i do qualify for that category.....
Coach, about time you chipped in - this thread was started as a trick for you to admit how many wins you actually have! You am I have combined for hundreds of wins over the years...
...much like Jack Haley, former NBA player, who after his debut game, in which he played 2 minutes and did not attempt a shot, stated "I will always remember this game as the night when Michael Jordan and I combined for 63 points!"
So did you not even vote then? I wonder who the other "too many to count" was?

I was tempted to vote for "Too many to count"...but I was a math major...I can definitely count to more than 50...most are x-country or track races...do they count here? I would have had more road race wins if my coach (sidewinder) didn't always beat me. I did mange to get him at the Arkansas marathon one year when he had the Irish Flu (see other posts for definition).
Does anyone besides me remember when sidewinder ran sub 30:15 for about 20 10Ks in a row back in the 80's?
I'll admit it was me. I really thought it read "too lazy to count". I didn't want to sort through 8 years of track meets. Take away track and my answer would be about 10. Besides, I've got a Nebraska education, I was confused by the base 10 format of the question.
Don't forget also that my little brother, Meduna, also did a 3:10 marathon on pretty much a whim, and had never gone more than what? 15 miles or so before that - awesome!
I loved PT's comments - you Penguin bashers tried to highjack my thread :x, but since I brought it up, I love the stuff about his and others encouragment of people to just get out there and get moving, regardless of their pace, whether they ever race, or whatever. I didn't race for the first 2 years I was running, and hardly knew there was such a thing. But I was a runner before I was a racer and I'm sure running saved my life, not racing. Its fine for us racers to think pace is important, but bless those folks for their effort, no matter the pace.
Also, I know Rob FullPants loves the stories of the Penguin eating pizza and drinking beer at the back of a marathon. :P

My bad - so who is this Mann? I have raced a few times with Wade Mann, who I know does marathons and is about an 18 minute 5-Ker in his late 30s. I will be glad when he turns 40.
The Sidewinder comment should have tipped me off - that would have made Coach about 60 something now.

This is Danny Mann (already 41). Sidewinder was my coach at ATU in 83' and 85'. This was back in the days when Billy Mills, Chuck Campbell, Johnny Gross, David Mayes and others were in their prime...I think it is safe to say that none of this group (myself included) are still in our prime.
Wade and I competed against each other numerous times in college when we were both much trimmer and faster than we currently are.
