Great job Sidewinder and crew on a great race! I think was perhaps the most organized race I've ever seen the ole boy put on! Although the weather didn't cooperate, your bunch worked like troopers! Great job guys and gals!

I just want to know why the stadium roof was not closed for the run.
All kidding aside, it was a good run. Thanks to the organizers and volunteers!

I too was impressed with how the Tech Cross Country Team and Tom Aspel actually got everyone from heat 1 measured before Mac had to start timing the second heat. We had about 3 minutes or more to spare and it went on without a hitch!
I heard a lot of ladies loving the HUGE multi-stalled bathrooms that WERE HEATED nice! If you didn't use the bathrooms under the stadium, they were there for you. It was also nice having the covered area under the bleachers to stay out of the rain while we waited for the race to start!
Thanks also to Tom and volunteers who made Chili..... chili that Heat 2 never got to see.
LOL
Can't wait for next year!

Right on judge......CHILLY and no CHILI. Did Billy somehow sneak in there and clean us out? LOL We had to figure we would be short changed since 1, 548,000 people ran in the first heat. LOL

Yes, there were an awfully lot of us in the first heat. Some of which had a pace that didn't belong there.

We need a distance limit for the first heat. Once you meet that max you are done, to keep all those fast folks away from the regular people!!
I'm only joking, if the faster folks don't mind dodging us and are nice about it I say let them run - they will be for sure slowed down with all the traffic.

Next year I'll have J.P.Sandbagger2 throwin elbows at Stan Fergerson to push him a few more feet to the outside as he speeds by!

I was wondering about the reasoning of the 7:30/mile split for the heats. Wouldn't it be better to push that a little higher (8:00/mile, for instance) so that a few of the faster runners from the first heat are moved to the second heat?
Or is the design intended to keep the field small in the second heat to limit the disruption from additional traffic?

I did my best to slow Fergeson, he had to move out to lane 3 to get around my fat butt.

There will always be exceptions to the rule especially in cases when there are couples running I would expect they would run the same heat even if they run different paces. Also with carpooling long distance, folks who travel together are going to pick the heat that suits the biggest majority of the group.
I thought the race was a great success, glad to be there.

It just seemed that way because you got lapped so many times.
