LRRC Speed workout

Post by Bill Torrey »

It appears that the weather and soccer will have us looking for a new location for working out. The trail is under water and the next two Tuesday they have soccer matches at Scott Field. Here is my suggestion, for May 3, let's meet at Murray Park where most of the races start and I have mile locations mark on the trail for Jesse is Awesome Half Marathon.

We will start at the usually time 5:30 and after the warm-up we can do (3) i mile repeats. Since we have the G0 Mile coming in June this will give us an opportunity to see where everyone is out and set goals for the Go-Mile.

After the workout we can decide on the location for the 10th as that is also the night of the clubs potluck at the Trojan's Baseball.

See everyone at Murray

This week's LRRC speed workout will be held on Monday. We'll meet at the normal time (about 5:15 PM). Location will be Murray Park, same as last week due to the flood waters on the NLR side of the bridge.

Also, Torrey can verify this later, but I think we get to move back to the Scott Field track the following week - May 17th. At some point after that I think we need a Tuesday Night Mini Track Meet with an all-out mile to get us ready for the Go! Mile. Week after the Rock Run, perhaps.

Yes, the 17th of May we will back at Scott Field for some good old hot track sessions. I for one am looking forward to the complaining about the heat and humidity.

Brian's had the right idea. The week after the Rock Run we will do a mile preview for the GO-Mile. We will work out some details later but record the times that night and come up with a reward for the best improvement at the GO-Mile. I know, I know this will take some thought so we can make it far. I will talk our Pres and Board into prize a for the club member that wins. Open to suggestions, folks.
