Post by David Samuel »

The Adam Brown Road Mile (longest continuing road mile in Arkansas) is scheduled August 25 at Lake Hamilton High School (10 miles west of Hot Springs on US 70. This is the fourth running on Adam Brown Road (named in honor of the late US Navy SEAL who graduated from LHHS and was killed in 2010 while serving his country in Afghanistan. The race formerly was called the Owens Road Mile and held on what is now Aldridge Road east of the school.
Five one-mile races for ages 13 and up and a half-mile children's run for ages 12 and under are scheduled. The top five male and female finishers in each division receive awards. Fees are $4 by Aug. 26 and $5 afterward, including race day.
A race for open males and females (ages 16 and up) is first, starting at 8 a.m. followed by races for senior-high boys, senior-high girls, junior-high boys, junior-high girls, and the children's half-mile run at 9:40 a.m.
