Feel free to share this press release. I sent this in a PDF with the Grand Prix logo to Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Arkansas Times, Sync Weekly, KARK, KATV, Today's THV, Fox 16, and the local Russellville newspaper, The Courier. I plan to write similar press releases announcing each race and to include the state-wide media as well as local newspapers. Please let me know of any other outlets that I should include in my list.

The purpose of these press releases is to invite media to our races and hopefully get some coverage of what I consider to be an amazing community in the state. By the way, if there is any of you have experience with writing press releases and can do a better job than me, please chime in; I'm just feeling my way through this.

Arkansas Road Runners Club of America announces Valentine’s Day 5k

February 7, 2013

The third race of the 2013 Arkansas Grand Prix Series will be the Valentine’s Day 5k on February 9, 2013 in Russellville’s Bona Dea park. The 3.1 mile course is entirely on paved trail that winds through the wildlife sanctuary.

The race is run in four heats to relieve congestion on the path which is not as wide as a normal street. Men age 40 and over run at 9:00 am; women age 40 and over at 9:30 am. Women 39 and under run at 10:00 am; men 39 and under run at 10:30 am.

This race has the added feature of the Sweethearts competition for an additional $3.00 per registration where male and female teams compete in either married or unmarried categories; the combined time of the man and woman are used to determine the winners of this side competition.

Media and questions are always welcome.
