One Hour Track Run and extreme weather

The One Hour Track Run will proceed as scheduled. The only thing that could delay or cancel the race would be lightening in the immediate vicinity at the time of the race. There is no way to give anyone notice before traveling to the race.
The race will observe the 30 minute lightening rule. That means if lightening occurs before or during the race, we will wait 30 minutes before proceeding.
If lightening occurs before the race, the start of the race will be delayed to allow 30 minutes from the last lightening.
If lightening occurs during the race, the race may be paused and continued later. Runners will be asked to leave the shoe with the timing chip on the track and take shelter. The clock will be paused. We'll wait 30 minutes and if there is no more lightening, we'll resume.
Safety of the runners is of paramount importance. Please comment or email staterep@arkrrca.com if you have any questions.
