A few notes about the schedule:
Track Meet. Brand new to the Grand Prix will be a Track Meet. This will be a team competition only and will not count for individual points or for Iron Runner. The 2019 Track Meet will be hosted by the Cabot Country Cruisers at Cabot High School but we will be calling on all the participating clubs to help with volunteers. The idea is that this will be a race for the Grand Prix by the Grand Prix participants. Future years will likely have the Meet move to other locations and hosts. We are still working out the plans, costs, etc. There will be races for individuals as well as team relays. Be on the watch for news about this exciting new event!
Two new races.
The Heat is On 8K in Batesville will be an early evening race that finishes at the Batesville Aquatics Park. Runners will get to cool off in the pool after the race.
White River Marathon for Kenya in Cotter is both a new race and a new town for the Grand Prix. This race has never been possible before due to a date conflict that happens to not exist this year. Perhaps you’ve already noticed.
Date changes. The White River 4 Mile Classic will be held in October to make room for the Heat is On 8K. And the Spa 10K will be one week earlier than has been in the past; it will be two Saturdays before Thanksgiving.
