Pulaski county, NLR and LR all tout the trail for getting out and exercising yet no entitiy holds a race that loops the entire trail. Heck a lot of us train on the thing. I know the LRM runs PART of the LR side but not all of it. Sure there are some issues with an east crossing and that bit of Cantrell but aren't those items that can be overcome? I mean it is just a tad over a half and most who have completed a half could WALK the additional distance.
If the logistics could be worked out you could have 3 events....LR side, NLR side and the whole loop.
Just a random thought that crossed my mind.

That idea was batted around here two or three years ago. Start on Broadway and end at Dickey-Stevens Park. You want to be the RD? When would you work it into to what is becoming a crowded schedule? That distance, Half Marathon, is made for late fall or winter or early spring. You would have to schedule such that it wouldn't conflict with the other races at that time which are fairly well established. I agree, it would be a good venture.
The difference between a jogger and a runner is an entry blank.

Anything is possible and logistics can be worked out for such an idea but Kirk is right the schedule is crowded. There is a major problem with the NLR side near the BDB and that is flooding. I know it might not occur but I have seen enough water standing near the bridges that if it happen you would have to reroute or cancel the event.
As for the Lung Run it had two locations. The first was run in LR and covered some of the LRM course and the second started in NLR and went to Lakewood area. The Lung Association didn't feel that the event was raising enough money for the association and that was one of the reason the event was dropped. The other was the LRM started and cut into their numbers.
