Pleasant Valley 5:00 a.m. Run

Post by Joe Cordi »

The club's homepage says these runs start at the golf course. Where on the course? If I ever wake up early enough I might join in the fun every now and then. Thanks.

PV Early Morning Runs

Post by runlong4fun »

Hey Joe,

The runs start from the PV Golf Course Parking Lot. The runs start at straight up 5:00AM, so you want to get there at least a couple minutes early. This week participation will be slim at PV. Jenny is at Boston and she said she will be there Friday morning to run. I will be in St Louis for a couple of days and will not at PV until Friday also. John Russell is tapering for the Nashville 1/2 Marathon this Saturday and he said it will probably be next week before he returns to PV. Bill Harrell and Howard Hendrickson usually run on Wednesday's, but might take off since everyone is out this week. We would love to have you run with us. Feel free to come out anyday. We have a different route to run Tuesday-Friday.

PV Runners: Excellent! Many thanks and see you soon, but don't expect me to keep up with Jenny.

Jenny: I'd be happy to complete a downhill marathon on my bike in the time you ran Boston. Great run!

Gi-Gi: I hope to see you there.

(Considering that they do this run at 5:00 a.m, I hope to see myself there.)

Yes the 5am start is a little hard for me, considering how much I love my sleep. :pompom:

Well I was there but 1-2 min. late and saw some take off and did not try to follow due to not knowing course.

For the record....had a good run anyway in my neighborhood, was running along in the dark quiet morning when heard a hoof stomping crowd behind me-in a flash of wind caught a glimpse of Imari, Glen Mays leading with another lad and our fav.elite woman LT. Whew inspiring!

TC,

I'm sorry you missed the run last Friday. I really enjoyed it because of the low traffic and great company. I hope you can make it there tomorrow (Thursday) morning. I'll be there if I wake up in time and it's not raining.

I am new to the area and was wondering the approximate pace and distance that you run in the morning?

I've done this run a couple of times with the group and a couple of times by myself when no one else showed up, so whether anyone else will be there is hit and miss. The two times I've run with the group I think we did about 5.5 miles at about a 10-minute-mile pace. The course has some evil little hills. I hope to see you there sometime.

Most the routes we run are around 5 to 6 miles and like Joe said there are a few evil hills. Hey, hills make you a better runner anyway. Some of the regulars have had nagging injuries lately. We are all hoping to get back there on a regular basis soon. Come on out and join us. If you send a note that you are going to be there I will do my best to be there to show you around our routes.

I keep saying I am going to come join this group for a run too, but I haven't been able to get myself there that early. Amazing what an extra 15-20 minutes of sleep does, and now that it's daylight so early I don't have that fear of running alone. Hope you all are still meeting consistently when the dark winter rolls back around.

Joe, yell over the fence if you ever want to run with me and Molly in the morning. We usually leave my house somewhere between 5:20-5:30
