Looking for opinions .... would folks like the yaller jersey run (Mt. Nebo) in the Grand Prix ...like sometime in May?? its only 2 1/2 miles.
It wouldn't have to be certified because its just up hill ...lol Its a novelty run....Hell of a test to see what shape you're in...lol answer back on the forum here.....Thanks.

I've never done the run but love the idea of it being in the grand prix.

I think the Yellar Jersey run is too big for the Grand Prix. It needs its own Series. Mt Nebo Chicken Fry 10K and Mt Magazine 15K. See if you can get a race to go up Petit Jean. Call it the Tri-Peaks Challenge or the Arkansas Fell Running Triple Crown. Lowest total time from the three races wins a plaque and a free dinner at Whataburger.
I nominate Tom Aspel to head this up. It needs it's own website though. Completely separate from the Arkansas RRCA. That's the ticket!

Amen   ,,,plus it has to be on a certifed course,,,

COURSE MANAGEMENT - A race course should be accurately measured so that the runner's finishing time will be meaningful to him or her. RRCA Grand Prix races must be USATF/RRTC certified.

Speaking of races up there..Tom did you ever get the awards for the Hour Track Run? Although I might have missed them if you had them at the Valentine 5K :doh!:
Somewhere , someone is training when you are not. When you race against them, they will beat you!

Yep Had 1 hour run medals at VDay race and all other races I drive to......

Sorry the biker's have the tri peaks....we just need Nebo....Brian knows what its like he competed for the yaller jersey some years ago....him and Campbell were the hot items...when Chuckie couldn't handle it I had to take it from both of them in order to keep it in the River Valley area...lol

We can measure it ...its about 2.6 miles, the official record is 20.04 for men and 21.31 I think for women..., but like I said its a novelity race....it'll be the same from year to year....so it goes against times in the past the you measure your standards (race against)...Chip timing would work real well...Awards could be some kind of yellow jersey and the main winner being put on the main "Yaller Jersey"....
Silly Billy was so Nilly....Couldn't run the Nebo Hilly....lol

I am for it and I know the young one is. He likes running up the Mountain. I am with Tom.....it would no problem measuring it cause we want to make sure it is accurate. Haha.

Tom is that record from the usual starting and stopping points? Carter will be ready for a yellar jersey challenge after cross country season.

I've always thought that either the Yaller Jersey run or the Mt. Magazine 15K would make a great addition to the GP series. They're both very unique.
I believe some variety in the series would be a good thing.

I agree with Sassy. More Trails! I personally would like to see a true trail run in the Grand Prix. I know we have the Chili Pepper 10K, but it’s really a cross country race. It doesn’t have to be as long as a 25K or 50K, it could be a 5K or 10K. What do you think?

I put my vote in for the Sylamore 25K. Who is going to certify it and how? That stream crossing will be tough to do the certification. It certainly will seperate the men from the boys.
